CRDF Global Co-Hosts 2023 US-Japan Cooperative Medical Sciences Program Emerging Infectious Disease Conference

In March 2023, CRDF Global planned and coordinated with the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED), Republic of the Philippines Department of Science and Technology, and US National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID) to deliver a successful meeting centered on infectious diseases, titled US-Japan Cooperative Medical Sciences Program Emerging Infectious Disease Conference (USJCMSP EID). CRDF Global employees in the Arlington and South-East Asia Hub worked in tandem with the governmental co-hosts to coordinate pre-conference planning and on-site support.

The objective of the conference was to provide investigators with the opportunity to strengthen relationships across the region, disseminate research findings in the field of emerging infectious diseases, and promote the USJCMSP Collaborative Awards. Topics covered in this conference included, but were not limited to: acute respiratory infections, cancer, cholera, and other bacterial enteric infections, immunology, mycobacteria, and parasitic diseases. Attendees reported overwhelmingly positive feedback. CRDF Global looks forward to collaborating with AMED and NIAID on the upcoming conference in March 2024 to be held in Seoul, South Korea to further sustain relationships, build new partnerships, and to foster an environment to strengthen sustained collaborative scientific research.
