Ukrainian Cyber Professionals Compete in IRD 4.0 Event Focused on Financial Sector

The fourth activity of Incident Response Days (IRD) 4.0: FinHack Edition took place on August 21–22, 2025, in Kyiv, bringing together over 150 cybersecurity professionals for a dynamic two-day cyber competition focused on the financial sector.
Participants competed in a Capture the Flag (CTF) tournament, racing to resolve realistic cybersecurity incidents and secure victory by closing flags. The event was held at the unique venue of the Kyiv Aviation Institute State University.
IRD 4.0 featured a balanced mix of table-top exercises (TTX), CTF competition, coordination session, and expert-led workshops, offering participants an opportunity to:
- Enhance cyber incident response capabilities through real-world scenarios
- Gain up-to-date technical skills rooted in best practices and real case studies
- Practice institutional-level coordination and response protocols
- Refine communication strategies for handling incidents in the media
The event concluded with an award ceremony recognizing top performers in the CTF competition. The organizing team extends sincere congratulations to all participants for their commitment and achievements.
IRD 4.0 was organized by CRDF Global in Ukraine in collaboration with the National Cyber Security Coordination Center at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, the National Bank of Ukraine, and the Kyiv Aviation Institute, with support from the U.S. Department of State.
