CRDF Global Helps Drive National Public Health Preparedness in COVID Intra Action Review
CRDF Global, in collaboration with the Jordan Center for Disease Control (JCDC) and the Jordan Ministry of Health (JMoH), and with support from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), conducted a national follow up workshop on January 6, 2025, to review progress on the implementation of recommendations from Jordan’s COVID 19 Intra Action Review (IAR) and strengthen national preparedness for future public health emergencies.
The objective of the workshop was to assess the status of priority IAR recommendations, identify implementation gaps and barriers, and support evidence-based prioritization of next steps. The meeting aimed to strengthen national ownership of the IAR process and promote its use as an operational tool for continuous learning, coordination, and system improvement across sectors.
Key topics included presentation of findings from the 2024 IAR follow up stakeholder survey, review of progress made by different MoH directorates and partner institutions, identification of remaining operational and coordination challenges, and facilitated discussions to validate priorities and agree on practical actions to strengthen preparedness, planning, and response capacities.
The workshop reinforced multisector engagement and accountability for implementation of priority actions. Participants confirmed progress in several technical areas, identified cross cutting gaps requiring further coordination, and agreed on priority actions to be integrated into national preparedness planning.
