Overview

CRDF Global, on behalf of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of International Security and Nonproliferation Office of Cooperative Threat Reduction (ISN/CTR), is pleased to announce an opportunity for Ukrainian scientists, technicians, and engineers (STEs) seeking support to publish scientific articles in peer-reviewed international journals. This opportunity will contribute to the professional development and recognition of STEs, enable them to build a strong publication record, and expand their professional opportunities. Travel support of up to $2,500 is available for approved applications. 

 

Grant procedure: 

  1. Submit the application. 
  • Please review the eligibility criteria and requirements below before submitting the full grant documents package.  
  • We recommend submitting your application at least 65 days before the payment deadline (if any). 
  • Successful applications must have a clearly defined purpose including justification and benefits for the applicant’s progression in scientific research and/or career development. 
  • Please ensure you have received a confirmation of application receipt. 

 

  1. Evaluation. 
  • Following the application evaluation, the applicant will receive an email with the official Grant Committee decision.  

 

  1. Grant implementation.
  • Approved applicants will be contacted by CRDF Global to sign the Grant Agreement.  
  • CRDF Global will work directly with the publisher on all expenses included in the Grant Agreement. 
  1. Reporting.
  • The grantee will provide a final report to CRDF Global.  

Eligibility

  • Applicants and all coauthors must be Ukrainian nationals. 
  • Applicants must hold a PhD at the time of application submission. 
  • Applicants must have experience within the fields of aeronautics, artificial intelligence, materials science, nuclear science or quantum. 
  • The focus of research to be published must be civilian in nature.  
  • Eligible countries: Ukraine 

 

Award Condition:  

CRDF Global may provide grants to selected individuals only if the funds are readily available to CRDF Global. Shall any related project within CRDF Global be terminated, withheld or delayed, CRDF Global reserves the right to postpone or terminate grants issuance.   

Application Materials

  • Completed application (NOTE: only one application should be submitted regardless of the number of authors).
  • Only one (1) publication grant will be awarded regardless of the number of authors.
  • Official Letter of Confirmation from the Scientific Journal which indicates that the article is aligned with all the policies and procedures, relevant to the scope and focus of the scientific journal / platform and presents original research or novel findings that contribute to scientific knowledge and scientific community.
  • Official Notice or Letter of Acceptance stating that the article is accepted.
  • Invoice for Article Publishing Charge (if available).
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV) for all authors of the publication.
  • Detailed Cost Breakdown (Completed Budget Form)
  • Full article to be published.
