Biorisk Management Engagement Grant (BMEG) Competition
CRDF Global is pleased to announce the BMEG Competition. For detailed information on the competition and application requirements, please view the 2019 Program Announcement (attached below).
The goal of the competition is to improve biosecurity, biosafety, and biorisk management practices, enhance the quality of research through repairs and maintenance of equipment, and provide upgrades for the physical and procedural security of facilities, at government, academic, law enforcement, and industrial institutions in the Middle East North Africa (MENA) region.
Grants are intended to cover costs associated with physical security enhancement, development or revision of procedural security SOPs and materials, provision of supplies that improve biological security, improvement of laboratory design, and support the repair and maintenance of equipment.
ONLY APPLICATIONS FROM ALGERIA, EGYPT, JORDAN, LEBANON, LIBYA, MOROCCO, TUNISIA, AND TURKEY WILL BE ACCEPTED.
The grants will be administered by CRDF Global, an independent non-profit organization that promotes international scientific and technical collaboration.
All applications must be submitted in English to: BMEG@crdfglobal.org by 29 April, 2019 for consideration.
A complete application package includes the Application Form, Budget File, Institutional Data Form, Biorisk Assessment, Institute Letter of Support (LOS), Curriculum Vitae (CV) and Passport for each project staff member, and Partnering Institution Letter of Support (if applicable).
Application Evaluation Criteria:
- Biosecurity and Biosafety Impact;
- Sustainability Potential;
- Budget; and
- Clarity and Completeness of application.
CRDF Global will notify all applicants by 5 July 2019. Finalists will be contacted and potentially awarded a grant, with a value of $15,000 USD and a period of performance of three months.
