Seeking Subject Matter Experts for DTRA BTRP Work in Azerbaijan


CRDF Global is seeking subject matter experts, qualified trainers, and mentors to support projects in Azerbaijan for the US Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Biological Threat Reduction Program (BTRP) which advances biological threat reduction and capacity building in partner countries. Ideal candidates will possess a combination of education and relevant experience in veterinary medicine, human medicine, epidemiology, laboratory science, and public health-related fields. Individuals based outside Azerbaijan must be able to travel internationally.

Anticipated Scopes:

  1. Science Mentorship Workshops – build the capacity of the partner countries’ science sustainment skills including identification and use of funding opportunities, presentation, and writing skills.
  1. BS&S Refresher Workshops – support the development of the partner countries’ ability to safely and securely conduct work within BSL-2 and BSL-3 laboratories following internationally accepted guidelines and standards.
  1. Proficiency Testing Program Mentorship – provide advanced mentoring to laboratory personnel who conduct ELISA and PCR testing.
  1. EDP Collection and Consolidation Workshop – enhance the capacity of the partner country to safely and securely collect, transport, consolidate, and manage EDPs.
  1. Biosafety-Biohazardous Waste Disposal Refresher Workshop – promote the partner countries’ compliance with proper biohazardous waste disposal methods.
  1. Publication of Articles Mentorship – assist with the review, editing, and submission of peer-reviewed journal articles.
