Climate change is a global problem that requires multinational solutions. Recognizing the importance of coordinating international research efforts on climate change, CRDF announced the following grant opportunities in the fall of 2009:
- CRDF and the Russian Foundation for Basic Research (RFBR) announced the 2009 CGP-RFBR Climate Change and Energy Competition. This program provides awards of approximately $93,000 for up to two years of support to joint research teams of U.S. and Russian scientists. The deadline was Dec. 1, 2009.
- CRDF announced the 2009 Cooperative Grants Program (CGP 2009) Climate Change and Energy Competition. This program provides awards of $90,000 for up to two years of support to joint research teams of U.S. and Ukrainian scientists. The deadline was Dec. 1, 2009.
- In cooperation with the Estonian Science Foundation (ETF), CRDF announced a joint 2009 Energy Research Competition which provides awards of approximately $50,000 for up to two years of support to joint research teams of U.S. and Estonian scientists and engineers. The deadline was Dec. 1, 2009.
