In partnership with MIT Enterprise Forum Turkey, the GIST Initiative is organizing the Istanbul GIST Startup Boot Camp, an intense and interactive three-day program (March 28-30, 2012) of training and heavy mentoring designed to spark innovative thinking and trigger the creation of new startup ideas of 30 technology entrepreneurs.
This Boot Camp will take place during the annual MIT Global Startup Workshop (GSW), which brings together entrepreneurial leaders, financiers, students, professors, government agents and private parties to build a global support network for entrepreneurship. This event will bridge boundaries across different sectors to stimulate discussion, generate ideas and share best entrepreneurial practices.
The training and mentorship these 30 Turkish entrepreneurs are receiving will help them prepare a full business plan, which will be reviewed by experts who will select nine teams. These semifinalists will then pitch their ideas in front of a jury who will decide on the four finalists of the Annual 50K Business Plan Competition organized by MIT-EF Turkey.
Ovidiu Bujorean, Program Manager, GIST Initiative, CRDF Global, will be a panelist at the Incubating Entrepreneurship Panel (March 30, 11 a.m.), which will also be attended by Gary Palin, Exec. Director, Dougherty Center for Entrepreneurship Leadership, Elon University; Antoine Verdon, Co-Founder & CEO, Sandbox, and Melek Pulatkonak, Founder, Turkish Women’s International Network
