CRDF Global and the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences announces a joint basic research competition for teams of US and Russian scientists. Proposals should focus on one or more of the following research areas:

• Biodiversity and peculiarities of activities of families of organisms (including humans) and ecosystems at the Far East and monitoring of the response of the  biota to environment changes
• Geology, geophysics and geodynamics of the ocean, and the intertidal continent-ocean zone
• Physical and chemical fundamentals of predetermined creation and study of new functional materials (including nanodimensional systems and nanomaterials of natural and artificial origin)
• Study of the World ocean, including Arctic seas and  global climate change problems and their influence on regional systems

Awards will provide funding for up to two years of research. All applications must be submitted online using CRDF Global’s Electronic Proposal Submission (EPS) system. For information on eligibility and submission, please see the Program Announcement below.
